Springboks to slay the Dragons in December?

CARDIFF: The Welsh Rugby Union have announced that Wales will face the Springboks at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on December 2, as part of a daunting four-match schedule for the northern hemisphere’s autumn internationals.

Wales will play Australia, Georgia, New Zealand and South Africa on consecutive weekends in November and December.

In the corresponding series in 2016, Wales first lost to Australia, before beating Argentina, Japan and the Springboks.

For the Boks, it was only their third loss in the history of matches between the two. SA had the dubious distinction of losing to Italy for the first time the previous weekend.

The Welsh match was the conclusion of the worst season in Springbok history, Allister Coetzee presiding over a shameful four-won, 12-played record.

Most pundits and experts from around the world of rugby, except those close to the SA Rugby Union,

Warren Gatland, coach of the British & Irish Lions for their upcoming tour of New Zealand, is due to resume his position as Wales coach for the autumn international series.

He will take over from caretaker coach Rob Howley.

For Georgia, it will be their second match at the Millennium Stadium, after playing New Zealand there in the 2015 Rugby World Cup. However, they will be facing Wales for the first time. – African News Agency (ANA)
