Medics robbed, suspects nabbed

FIVE suspects, aged between 20 and 17, were arrested yesterday after paramedics were robbed at gunpoint while assisting a heart attack patient in Heideveld, Cape Town. Police spokespers­on Lieutenant-Colonel André Traut said: “At around 12.30am, the paramedics were held at gunpoint by six suspects and robbed of personal effects.” Sergeant Darryl van Noie from the Manenberg detective branch was assigned to the case and by 3am, five suspects were arrested and the stolen items recovered. A toy firearm allegedly used in the execution of the crime was also found. – ANA
