Cape Town set for wind, rain, cold

-

CAPETONIANS should brace themselves for heavy rains, strong winds and cold conditions this week, the Western Cape Local Government Department warned yesterday. “Adverse weather is expected across the Western Cape from Tuesday evening continuing into Thursday,” the department said. “Extensive gale-force winds, high seas and cold weather, including snow, on the high-lying areas can be expected.” MEC Anton Bredell said while rainfall was welcome, here could be flooding, mudslides and informal-settlement fires. Disaster management teams would be on standby, he said. – ANA
