Man held over child’s murder

WESTERN Cape police arrested a 35-year-old suspect yesterday for the murder of five-year-old Minentle Lekhatha whose body was found on Sunday near Strand. Spokesperson LieutenantColonel André Traut said: “Our prioritised around-the-clock investigation led detectives to a 35-year-old suspect from Lwandle. Our investigation into the circumstances surrounding the case is yet to be finalised and the finer aspects of the suspect’s apprehension cannot be disclosed at this stage,” he said. The suspect is due in court tomorrow. – ANA
