Bombers spread fear

-

ABOUT 70 internally displaced persons (IDPs) are seeking sanctuary in a mosque in Kolofata on Cameroon’s northern border with Nigeria after fleeing IDP camps following suicide bombings.

This follows 150 IDPs in northern Cameroon deserting camps near the Nigerian border, saying they no longer felt safe after the bombings.

The IDP camps had housed 500 Cameroonians who had previously fled attacks by Boko Haram militants, according to the Cameroonian government.

On Friday, two suicide bombers disguised as refugees blew themselves up, killing nearly a dozen people and injuring 30. ANA –
