The Star Early Edition

Thank you, we’ll be back!

WE WERE lucky enough to win the Tsogo Sun International Competition last year. Unfortunately, the hotel where we were supposed to stay was fully booked. However, Darren Hailstones and Neo Mazibuko were able to get us our two-night stay at Southern Sun – The Cullinan.

Firstly, thank you to Darren and Neo for being so accommodating and helpful. Our experience at The Cullinan cannot be put into words.

When walking in, guests are greeted with friendly smiles from staff. The grandeur of the foyer, with its warm colours, must be seen to be believed. The staff are always willing to help, and every question will be answered to its full extent. There is an always-on-time shuttle to the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront and back, which runs every hour for your convenience.

The breakfast was incredible. A large selection of food was available; from breads, to eggs and bacon, to salmon and cheese. The staff were efficient, and our coffee/tea was poured as soon as we sat down. The view from the breakfast room was the luxurious outdoor area, with a large, warm-water pool.

Our room was waiting for us with a complimentary bottle of wine and an assortment of sweets and nuts.

We had a beautiful view of the harbour (which created a great spot for watching the Cape storm, and the large waves). Nougat was waiting for us on our pulled-back bed each night when we came back from our Cape Town adventures.

Overall, the experience was more than we had ever hoped for. We would like to thank Independent Travel Club, especially Awande and Vanessa.

Furthermore, we thank Southern Sun for a great two-night stay and we look forward to going to Cape Town for another Tsogo Sun experience. Irmie Jansen
