HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISS ‘UNBREAKABLE’

-

MISS South Africa, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, launched her “Unbreakable” campaign at a glittering party held in her honour at the weekend.

Nel-Peters celebrates her 22nd birthday tomorrow and said the campaign aims to educate, uplift and empower South African women.

“This they can start to do by taking care of themselves and making wise decisions.”

She was inspired to launch “Unbreakable” because of the attempted hijacking she experienced earlier this month.

“It was an awful experience but I knew how to handle the situation in the best possible way because I had done a defensive driving course as well as a workshop for women that focused on everything from hijacking and robberies and how to handle these situations to how to get out of toxic and abusive relationships.”

She said she was a firm believer in the saying “knowledge is power”, and the information she learnt on the courses had helped her a lot.

“I want to set up similar workshops around the country as well as a resource where women can get information about places that can help them when they find themselves in dire situations.“– Staff Reporter
