KELLY Khumalo is set to get tongues wagging and viewers glued to their screens as she gets stars to reveal their intimate secrets in a new talk show.

The singer and actress is adding another showbiz string to her bow as host of GauTV’s new show Love and Matrimony.

Khumalo said she’s really excited about the show and couldn’t wait to hear what people think of it.

“When the first show airs, I will be on stage in Durban (for the July) so I won’t be able to watch it with everyone at home, but I hope people enjoy it and learn a thing or two about love,” she said.

Khumalo said she had found herself learning so much from the guests. “It’s an intimate sit down and we just talk about our views on love and experiences.”

The concept for the show started two months ago, said PR company Tembisa On Record’s Ngwako Serepe.

“The boss of GauTV, Dr Victor Phume, wanted Kelly Khumalo specifically for this show as she sings and writes about love and has a lot to share.”

Serepe explained that Khumalo will be bringing a different approach to the show in the way she interviews her guests.

“She’ll be getting stars to share a lot of details about their love lives. She will also be sharing from her own experiences. People will see a different Kelly on the show.”

Khumalo’s love life has always been in the public space, which has caused her to be under constant scrutiny on social media.

Her past relationships with Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye and the late Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa, resulted in Khumalo being called many derogatory names.

In an interview, Khumalo told Anele Mdoda on her SABC3 show Real Talk last year she had always been at peace with the way Meyiwa felt about her.

Their relationship came into the full glare of the media after Meyiwa had allegedly left his wife, Mandisa, to be with the singer.

She told Mdoda: “You can’t take that away from me… That is the beauty of it, that you can scream, you can accuse, you can call me names but one thing that you can never take away from me is the fact that that man loved me. Even in his grave.”

Meyiwa, whose death is still under investigation after almost three years, was shot and killed in Khumalo’s Vosloorus home in Ekurhuleni.

Maarohanye was released from prison earlier this year, after spending four years in prison for the 2010 killing of four schoolchildren during a drag racing incident in Soweto.

Khumalo had also done a “tell all” interview with Sizwe Dhlomo on MTV’s Behind The Story, talking about her alleged drugfuelled relationship with the hip-hop star.

She had told Dhlomo that she had become a drug addict while dating him and that it was because she had a lot of money and didn’t know what to do with it.

“I just became so hooked on drugs, I forgot about everything,” she had said in the interview.

She also called her relationship with Meyiwa a waste of time and energy.

Love and Matrimony will profile personalities in the entertainment industry “about their love lives, marriage, break-ups and the challenges they face or have faced in the name of love”.

Khumalo joins the likes of Khanyi Mbau who also hosted her own show on e.tv, Katch it with Khanyi.

The show will air on DStv on Saturdays at 7.30pm with her first guest being her sister, Zandie Khumalo.
