Ac­qui­si­tion of BMi Sport com­pleted

COGNITION Hold­ings has con­cluded an agree­ment for the ac­qui­si­tion of the re­main­ing 37 per­cent of the shares in BMi Sport Info Pro­pri­etary that the com­pany does not al­ready own from the two re­main­ing share­hold­ers, David Ian Si­den­berg and Wayne Deary. The group said the ac­qui­si­tion falls be­low the trans­ac­tion thresh­olds as set out in the List­ings Re­quire­ments of the JSE, there­fore it does not re­quire any for­mal dis­clo­sure. Cognition cur­rently holds 63 per­cent of the is­sued shares in BMi Sport. Th­ese shares were ac­quired in March 2015. BMi Sport was es­tab­lished in 1990 as a re­search com­pany fo­cus­ing ex­clu­sively on the sport and spon­sor­ship mar­ket. It has been at the fore­front of the in­dus­try and has be­come recog­nised as a leader in its field, both in South Africa and in­ter­na­tion­ally. – Sandile Mchunu
