Xi, Putin vow to work for free global trade
MOSCOW: Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin have said the two countries support free global trade and the leading role of the UN in global governance.
China and Russia support an open, transparent, inclusive and non-discriminatory multilateral trade system centred on the World Trade Organisation, the two presidents said.
They added their countries are committed to promoting trade facilitation measures in the AsiaPacific and finally a free trade zone in the region.
Putin and Xi vowed to enhance co-ordination within the Group of 20 to promote robust and inclusive global growth and work together to help the coming Hamburg summit reap rewards on the basis of last year’s Hangzhou summit.
