MH17 me­mo­rial rite

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia held a me­mo­rial ser­vice yes­ter­day for the vic­tims of Malaysia Air­lines flight MH17 which was shot down over east­ern Ukraine al­most three years ago, killing all 298 peo­ple on board.

Trans­port Min­is­ter Liow Tiong Lai told vic­tims’ fam­i­lies Malaysia was de­ter­mined to find those re­spon­si­ble. He spoke to more than 90 fam­i­lies in Kuala Lumpur, on crim­i­nal pro­ceed­ings in the Nether­lands, Free Malaysia To­day re­ported on­line.

Last week, the Dutch gov­ern­ment said any­one sus­pected of in­volve­ment will be tried in the Nether­lands, ac­cord­ing to an agree­ment reached by coun­tries in­volved in the in­ves­ti­ga­tion. – dpa
