TRIPOLI: The Libyan army said on Monday that 43 army engineers were killed and 27 others wounded in landmine explosions. The mines were planted by terrorist groups in the city of Benghazi.

The army spokesperson Al Awamy confirmed that the number of victims among civilians rose to 19 as a result of the mine explosions that occurred during the past 10 days. He said the civilian victims were mostly merchants and shop owners in Darnah Street.

The spokesperson warned residents of Al Hoot market in Benghazi against returning to their homes until the mines had been found and removed.
