Trump’s migrant bill
WASHINGTON: After a string of political setbacks, US President Donald Trump rolled out a bill to overhaul the country’s immigration system on Wednesday, but his crackdown approach is likely to land him in another uphill battle. Trump said the current system “has not been fair” to US workers as it allows entries of low-skill immigrants hired at a lower salary.
Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said the bill would be devastating to agriculture-and tourism-driven South Carolina, “which relies on this immigrant workforce”. Xinhua
