Plum job for market boss
A NEW chief executive has been appointed for the Joburg Fresh Produce Market – Ayanda Kanana.
Councillor Leah Knott, member of the mayoral committee for economic development, said Kanana was a chartered accountant by profession.
In 2013, Kanana was appointed as the director for the governance and reporting unit in the city, where he represents the shareholder interests in the board of directors of the municipal entities owned by the city.
Kanana is also the interim managing executive of the broadband company at the city, where he has overseen the mammoth task of managing 1 152km of fibre network for the metro.
He is the youngest executive director in the executive management team.
