Walk to help ad­dicts get clean

TUT FM break­fast show pre­sen­ter and so­cial ac­tivist Khutsi Malala has al­most dou­bled his orig­i­nal tar­get of send­ing 20 drug ad­dicts for re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion. At the end of his gru­elling walk from Joburg to Soshanguve in Tsh­wane on Sat­ur­day morn­ing, he was greeted by the news that the Ro­tary Club of Waterk­loof in Pre­to­ria would spon­sor 35 ad­dicts for a skills de­vel­op­ment pro­gramme. Dit­sala Chil­dren’s Shield also do­nated money to his cam­paign to get drug ad­dicts off the streets. Malala and a group of 14 peo­ple be­gan the walk from Grayston Drive in Sand­ton on Fri­day to raise aware­ness about drug ad­dic­tion.
