End up?

CAPE Town City are keeping a close eye on Bafana Bafana star Lebogang Manyama.

Manyama is a free agent after parting ways with Konyaspor in Turkey.

He is currently in South Africa and training on his own.

John Comitis, the chairman of Cape Town City, informed Independent Media that they are interested in bringing Manyama back.

“I had a chat with Lebo and he knows where his home is. At this stage he is not sure (where he wants to go). We will find out next week what he is thinking. Everyone would love to have a player of his quality and we are no different,” Comitis said.

Manyama was at City before making his big European move to Turkey.

In the 2016/17 season, Manyama walked away with the Golden Boot, Players’ Player of the Season and the Player of the Season awards, all while at the Cape outfit.

Cty will face some stiff competition for his signature though, with both Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns said to be interested in his services.

Sundowns were interested in Manyama even before he moved to Europe. If he does end up at Sundowns, Manyama will reunite with Aubrey Ngoma.

The duo combined magnificently during their time at City. Manyama scored the most goals while Ngoma had the most assists.

“I’ve known Lebo since he was 21. I worked with him when he was still young at Ajax.

“As I said we had a chat and I offered him some sort of advice and we will hear from him in a week,” Comitis added.

The signing of Manyama will surely make City even stronger in attack.

“Apart from Lebo, it looks like we are done in the market,” Comitis concluded.

It remains to be seen as to where Manyama will end up. DANCING FEET: Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling showed how deadly he can be in front of goal when a well-struck shot that opened the scoring for his side in their 2-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium yesterday.
