#LOADSHEDDING

-

SOUTH Africans were shocked and frustrated yesterday when Eskom announced it was implementing stage 4 load shedding. The power utility had initially announced stage 2 load shedding.

#LoadShedding started trending.

◆ @NonnysZA: We moved from stage 2 to stage 4 #LoadShedding in the space of an hour or two. Dear South Africans, we definitely have a crisis on our hands. Is Eskom deliberately sabotaging us following #Sona2019? I’m outraged by this mess brought to us by the callous ANC.

◆ @koko_matshela: @Eskom_SA I am of the opinion that the current #Eskom board and executives were thrown in the deep end. They have not got a clue what they are doing. Today the wool is removed from our eyes #Eskom

◆ @SizweMpofuWalsh: An electricity crisis soon becomes a governance crisis, since all services depend on electricity. An electricity crisis also soon becomes an economic crisis, since power and production are linked. #LoadShedding

◆ @bonglez: #Eskom is such a dampener on anything the president or anyone else has to say about turning this economy around. #loadshedding.

◆ @veronica: #LoadShedding is a direct result of IPPs (independent power producers) that milk Eskom’s budget. Eskom is losing money every time it buys the overpriced energy from IPPs. Ramaphosa’s unbundling of Eskom is as good as selling it to the highest bidder.
