Justice will be Swift as Taylor does jury duty

-

LONDON: She’s normally seen performing on stage before tens of thousands of fans or attending exclusive parties for the rich and famous.

But Taylor Swift had rather more mundane plans yesterday – she turned up for jury duty.

The 26-year-old singer, who has sold more than 40 million albums and has won 10 Grammy awards, wore a simple black dress and minimal make-up to blend in at the court in Nashville, Tennessee, where she lives.

But she was, of course, still easily recognisable. The singer happily posed for photos with the stunned other jurors, who posted the images online where they were widely shared. One local posted a picture of the star on Twitter, writing: “My mom just casually has jury duty with Taylor SWIFT!!!!!!!”

Swift caused surprise when she didn’t attend the MTV Video Music Awards in New York on Sunday – but it is now clear this was because the star, who also has homes in LA, Rhode Island and New York, was back in Tennessee.

Last year it was reported that the singer had been called to be a juror in Nashville but she had chosen to defer it as she was touring in Australia at the time. – Daily Mail
