My congratula­tions to her. She looked beautiful in blue. But on a point of order, I humbly request she not take the habit of saying “Leave the House” home.

WITH reference to Hlaudi Motsoeneng’s defiance, President Jacob Zuma has commented that the government would respect the decisions of the court.

I WOULD like to thank Inkosi Mangosuthu Buthelezi for the leadership he showed during the elections. He showed more strength and stamina in campaignin­g for Inkatha.

Some will fail to understand why Shenge continues to sacrifice his family time – it is the patriotic blood coursing through his veins that inspires him to serve his country and her people.

THERE is a need for funds to assist students. They know that universiti­es have to pay for staff, buildings, maintenanc­e, etc. Free education does not exist. Someone, somewhere, must provide funds.

The government is the only entity that can use some of the funds provided by the relatively small group of taxpayers.

However, the headlines on September 22 suggested there are other sources: municipali­ties do handle quite an amount of funds. e-Thekwini spent more than R761 000 on the funeral of a rich local businessma­n. Students could approach their municipali­ties. J Matthews Durban
