NE OF the nights to look forward to in the Idols SA season is the showstoppe­r. This is when the producers go all-out to make the stage come to life for all the contestant­s.

The truth is, they all look good in this show and do not have to be able to sing like superstars, all they need to do is show up and give their best.

It is a night when everyone looks good, but someone still has to leave. It is sad, but it is just part of the show and, sadly, the axe fell on Nosihe Zulu. Although she had done really well, from the outset when she came to audition with her kid brother, South Africa did not give her enough votes to stay on the show.

The performanc­es were grand anyway, but there those who were better than others. To start was Noma who did a beautiful rendition of Beyonce’s Sweet Dreams which was loved by many. Those who had missed Somizi’s catch phrase were relieved because he, too, could not hold back.

“You nailed it! You outshone the dancers and I was just watching you. You deserve a whoooo shem,” he said.

Bevin attempted a Michael Jackson song, Rock With You, and although he did not move or sound like the King of Pop, at least he made the song his own and the judges loved it.

“I’ve seen people try to do Rock With You, but I’ve never seen anyone actually do Rock With You,” said a perplexed Randall Abrahams. Nosihe Zulu said goodbye to her
