What, exactly, is the role of ANC’s NEC?

- decisions

IN THE past few days I have heard the ANC deputy secretary-general-Jessie Duarteand secretary-general Gwede Mantashe state the National Executive Committee (NEC) does not vote on issues.

How then does the NEC ever come to any conclusion?

If the meetings end with no vote how, then, are made?

It seems the NEC of the ANC makes decisions, which appear to suit the leadership of the ANC, without taking cognisance of the thoughts of its membership.

The NEC is the ruling body of the ANC between confer- ences and if that body cannot make decisions, what is its purpose except to manage problems for the advantage of the ANC leadership?

Assuming my theory is correct, then there is a serious con job going on in the ANC. Tom Lambe
