Stop killings and find a better way
THE killing of innocent children in Syria continues. Unless man regains his sanity, we will be witnessing human carnage on a scale unprecedented in the annals of history.
The killing of civilians must stop.
Brutal military conflicts are raging across the globe.
Some of these are crimes against humanity.
The global community looks on silently as thousands are slaughtered.
Even when competing for their most basic resources, food and territory, animals typically do not kill members of their own species, so why do humans?
Sadly, there is no shortage of examples of cases of genocide, ethnic cleansing, racial hatred and war in humanity’s history.
Men have created many technological inventions, but they cannot create solutions to their problems.
Mankind has harnessed the power of computers to help process vast amounts of information, but we cannot correctly process our personal problems.
Scientists have discovered much about the size, magnificence and precision of the universe, but we cannot discover the way to peace.
History has not taught anything more clearly than the truth that violence always breeds more violence.
We can choose as we have in the past, to answer violence with violence, or chart a new and life-affirming course. Farouk Araie
