Farc militia hand in arms
THE MISSION of the UN in Colombia has confirmed that it had received 60% of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia’s weapons, officially completing the second phase of its disarmament.
The arms handover was last Tuesday, but the UN was not able to confirm before Friday that it had received all the weapons.
“The mission has taken under its custody 60% of the about 7 000 individual weapons that were registered, monitored, and verified since March 1, 2017,” the UN said.
As agreed by Farc-EP, the Colombian government, and UN, the third phase of disarmament is scheduled for tomorrow. – teleSUR
