DA miscalculated Zille debacle

-

THE ANC and its affiliates are ecstatic now that their enemy number one, Helen Zille, has been removed by the DA, a party that has quite unceremoniously shot itself in the foot.

The demise of Zille has opened the gates for an ANC victory in 2019. The DA, in subjugating itself to the clamour of the ANC, EFF and others, has shown that it really is not a force to be reckoned with, and that it cannot stand up to other parties.

I have always felt that the DA has fairly intelligent people at the helm, but they badly miscalculated the Zille debacle. The majority of illiterate and uneducated people of South Africa have no idea where Singapore is, what it stands for, or even its political history.

Nor have they any real knowledge of South African history. They also have no idea where the facilities, amenities and social infrastructures that everyone enjoys today originated from.

Who is next in the DA firing line? John Steenhuisen, David Maynier, James Selfe, Mike Waters?

Perhaps they should “smile pretty and watch their backs” and their Ps and Qs.

An important guide could be: “Don’t fear the enemy that attacks you, but the fake friend that hugs you.”

Zille just has to remember that “she has got nothing to lose, because you don’t lose when you lose fake friends”. Gratitude has never been a South African ethic. JR Whitlock Sunnyridge, Germiston
