KAIZER Chiefs team manager Bobby Motaung is unfazed at seeing their arch rivals being super active in the transfer market in the build-up to next season.

For a team that is supposedly hellbent on bringing an end to a trophyless campaign that has gone on for three seasons now, Amakhosi’s transfer inactivity is pretty surprising.

It is made even moreso by the fact that rivals Orlando Pirates and league champions Mamelodi Sundowns have started beefing up their squads.

Motaung though, says they won’t be bothered by what is happening at other clubs.

“We are not under pressure. It is still early. We will our announce our changes at an appropriate time. Does the fact that everybody is signing mean that we should also sign?”

Motaung was referring to the latest market moves made by the other two clubs.

Pirates announced that they have acquired the services of a massive nine players, among them ex Chiefs goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo, Kudakwashe Mahachi, Meshack Maphungule, Abel Mabaso, Paseka Mako and Linda Mntambo.

Sundowns, on the other hand, have already lured Andile Jali – apparently a Chiefs target – and Tony Silva into their camp for the new season.

Besides not signing players, Chiefs are also yet to secure the services of a news coach after they parted ways with Steve Komphela late last season.

“Does it does mean that when Pirates make announcement we must also make announcement? Why should we be worried that Pirates and Sundowns are signing new players? We will announce players when we are ready,” Motaung retorted.

It is believed ChiefsChiefs will lose the services of a number of players, among them veteran leftback Tsepo Masilela, Keagan Buchanan, Gustavo Paez and Edmore Chirambadare, making the need to bolster the squad even more crucial. But Motaung insisted they will do it their way and in their own time.
