Unions demand protection after 159 cash heists

-

Members of the Federation of Unions of SA and the Motor Transport Workers Union protest through the streets of downtown Johannesburg yesterday. Following a surge in cash-in-transit heists around the country in recent weeks the drivers, who are employed by cash-handling companies, marched to the office of the Gauteng Safety MEC, asking for more protection. Almost 160 cash heists have already been reported since the beginning of the year.
