LAMONTVILLE Golden Arrows are eager to turn their fortunes around at Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu starting with the game against Chippa United tomorrow at 3pm.

They have one point out of a possible nine at home. Arrows lost to Bloemfontein Celtic and Mamelodi Sundowns. Arrows coach Clinton Larsen is adamant his team will get it right at home.

“If the results can’t go your way, there’s absolutely nothing you can do but just to look at the next one and try again,” Larsen said after his side’s 1-0 home loss to Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday.

Arrows have registered four points in five league outings this season. Those points came away from home against Maritzburg United and Cape Town City.

“I don’t have to pick my boys up. They know how to pick themselves up. All I can tell them is how well they have played (on Wednesday against Sundowns). If they perform like this against Chippa we will get the results,” he added.

Asked about the areas that his team needs to refine, he replied: “The difference between us and the victory is sticking the ball into the back of the net.

“We are playing beautiful football but we are not sticking the ball into the back of the net. When those chances go in, it will change the complexion of the results.

“We just need somebody who will poke the ball over the goalline.

“The results haven’t been coming but it is still early days,” Larsen explained.

Chippa are under the tutelage of Eric Tinkler having parted ways with Dan Malesela after two matches.

“I’m expecting a structured Chippa side. Sundowns are also a well structured team but we exposed them at times. That’s what we got to do against Chippa.

“Hopefully they aren’t as good as Sundowns and we can expose their weaknesses. That’s all we will do. We’ ll put them under pressure and hopefully they’ll crack.”
