JRA finally responds with promise to fix exit lane

-

ROSS MELDRUM WRITES: I write as a frequent visitor to the Albury Office Park in Dunkeld West/Hyde Park. The condition of the road at the exit lane of the Albury Road entrance situated in Magaliezight Avenue is broken up and has been left unattended for well over a year, possibly two. Earlier in the year, it was a jagged hole and someone tried to smooth it over with old building material, but it remains a hazard to vehicles.

In spite of a number of reports logged to the JRA hot line, and having been brought to the attention of the Region B JRA by the office park management, tenants and visitors, there has been no response from JRA.

As all previous efforts have failed to achieve any response, it would be most appreciated if your team were able to assist in raising the issue with the appropriate department with a view to having the road properly repaired without further delay.

MELDRUM WRITES AGAIN: I have had no contact from JRA. A workforce did subsequently arrive at the site and dug up the section of road and blocked off the junction with Jan Smuts Avenue. The new excavation was then covered with soil and has now been left in that state, making access to Albury Office Park even more of a problem, and making access to other businesses a problem. No further action has been seen at the site.

THE JRA REPLIES: Thank you for bringing the condition of the road entrance to the Albury Office Park to our attention. Our team has inspected the site and confirmed that they will make the area safe, and work will be finalised by the end of this week.
