Big Brother millionaires to spend prize money wisely after frugal existence
THE COUNTRY’S latest millionaires are getting married. Just one day after bagging a cool R2 million from Big Brother Mzansi, Ntombi and Ace announced they would be getting hitched.
Ace, whose real name is Nkanyiso Khumalo, and Ntombi (Ntombifuthi Tshabalala) already have a son together and on Sunday, they won the reality show.
An excited Ntombi told The Star’s sister paper, the Daily Voice: “I want a big Zulu wedding!”
And Ace promised: “Soon, soon it’s going to happen.”
The Joburg couple have been together for five years and have always struggled finan- cially because they were both unemployed.
Ace says: “We definitely have a bright future together, and we are going to spend the money wisely.”
The couple have yet to work out exactly how they are going to use their millions.
During the reality show, Ntombi said: “I just want to send my son to a better crèche.”
Ace said they had lived with so little for so long, that he was not in a hurry to splurge.
“Coming from the lives we were living, we were good at rationing money, so that is not going to change now,” he said.
The couple said they didn’t have a strategy when they entered the Big Brother House, but they persevered and came out tops.
Ntombi said: “My low point was when the girls used to ignore me in the house, but I just kept to myself and did what I had to do.”
And Ace also had his challenges, locked in a house with strangers for nearly two months. “For me, it was when I realised people had serious game plans and they were willing to do anything to win.”
On Sunday, Ntombi and Ace won 62 percent of the audience’s vote, beating Chelsea and Mbali and K2 and Blue.
The millionaire couple said they sing, rap and dance, so were looking into breaking into the entertainment industry.
