Actor in tears over ex’s threats

-

LONDON: Terrence Howard reportedly broke down and cried on the stand while testifying that he had signed a 2012 divorce settlement agreement while under duress.

The Empire star, 46, claimed his ex-wife Michelle Ghent, 36, had threatened to release medical information about him that would have made it extremely difficult for him to land jobs in showbiz.

Gossip site TMZ said Howard referred to a phone conversation with his ex which he had taped as she threatened to tell people he had a sexually transmitted disease.

He felt pressured to sign the settlement agreement, which resulted in him giving her an unusually large sum of money.

The Iron Man star reportedly fought back tears while taking deep breaths and blew his nose while testifying.

Through litigation, he is trying to undo the original settlement giving her $5 800 (R74 398) in spousal support every month, claiming he signed the document under duress.

This comes days after reports that Ghent is demand-

Howard testified his relationship with Ghent was so bad, she had kicked food over him in a jealous rage over a make-out scene with Jennifer Hudson. They were in South Africa, where he was filming Winnie Mandela, when they got into the fight.

Howard said things got so bad he faked a suicide attempt by telling her he swallowed a bottle of pills.

The first witness on Friday, the actor’s sister-in-law Yvonne Howard, testified a sex tape of Terrence was allegedly used to blackmail him. It allegedly showed him having sex with a woman as another woman filmed them. – Daily Mail
