PEARL MODIADIE’s Instagram page, like that of many other celebrities, has been the envy of her fans recently.

She has been posting pictures of herself enjoying a much needed getaway in Bali.

The Indonesian island is known for its beautiful beaches, yoga and meditation retreats as well as religious sites. The TV presenter said she had decided to take the trip at the last minute.

On her page, she wrote how it was the best impulse decision she has ever made.

Modiadie turned 29 last month and reflected back on how 2016 had treated her.

“I had quite a few highlights in 2016. I hosted the SABC Crown Gospel Awards. They were the first awards where I was on the main stage and I had an incredible time,” she said.

The Metro FM radio host was also the first face for Shoprite’s Big Brand Beauty Extravaganza, and worked with Lux on its collaboration with Jenna Clifford.

Modiadie has been hosting Zaziwa, a music talkshow that gives viewers a chance to get to know their favourite celebrities better through the music that helped shape their lives, since 2013.

Last year, the show exceeded 4 million viewers, another highlight for Modiadie.

It proved to be a year of mixed emotions for the TV star.

In December 2015, she was engaged to her long-time boyfriend. Fans were privy to the news as she posted it on social media.

Also last year, Modiadie shared more snaps of her happy engagement until later in the year when fans started to notice that her ring finger was bare.

Last month, she officially confirmed that her engagement was off during her afternoon radio show on Metro FM. She handled the news well by thanking her fans for being supportive.

She described 2016 as being an enlightening year.

She also tweeted about the situation, writing: “This time last year life was completely different.”

While on her Bali trip, Modiadie would post about spiritual sites and new beginnings, and used hashtags like #InCharge and #EatPrayLove.

The former Craz-e presenter is now back home and planning a bright future for herself.

She is working on a new project, Raw Silk, which is a reality show about fashion. “We take fashion designers through the stages of refinement and help them become the best they can be through a series of challenges.”

Each week, one designer will be eliminated until a winner is announced. The show starts on February 7.

This year, Modiadie plans to see her companies grow.

“I want to grow Seed Multimedia and Modiadie Holdings.

“I also want to complete a personal project I’ve been working on for my father,” she said.
