Mercedes-Benz and customer service excellence

-

I READ an article in the Daily News of February 6, 2017 about Mercedes-Benz fixing rear tail lights and indicators.

I had similar issue with my car but Mercedes-Benz fixed it and I paid for it (car was out of warranty).

I referred the matter to Daimler (see below), and note the response they gave: “Thank you for taking your time for bringing your concerns to us.

“Please note that your query was escalated to the relevant departments and advised that, there is (sic) no outstanding campaigns relating to the tail lights on this vehicle.

“This information was verified with the chassis number of your vehicle.” Is there any other recourse? Praven Appanah

Georgie: Daimler’s press office came back to me, saying: “Mercedes-Benz South Africa (MBSA) and parent company Daimler take pride in the quality of our products to ensure the ultimate safety of our customers at all times. MBSA works in parallel with Daimler AG on all related technical and business topics.

“The repair of this specific issue on W204 tail lamps is covered by Mercedes-Benz, even for vehicles which are out of regular warranty. To this end a process is in place to assist customers on a case by case basis. Mr Appanah has been contacted and his matter is being handled accordingly.”
