Musona after Telkom glory

POLOKWANE City ‘s rising star Walter Musona is keen to emulate his brother Knowledge who won two Telkom Knockout gold medals .

Walter (21) should be influential for City when they lock horns with Bloemfontein Celtic in the semifinal at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Sunday (3.30pm).

Knowledge won the TKO twice with Kaizer Chiefs and scored one of the goals in the 2-1 victory over Ajax Cape Town in the 2009 final. He was Walter was still in Zimbabwe Walter was still back home in Zimbabwe when his brother collected the winners’ medals.

“I supported Chiefs then because Knowledge was playing for them. I was very happy that he was able to win and I also want to get the TKO medal so that I can show him that I’ve won the cup that he won when I was supporting him.”

“The guys are always motivated against big opposition,” Musona said “But we won’t take Celtic for granted. All the games are important.We are all fired up for this encounter. We know it is not going to be easy. We we will treat our game against Celtic as a cup final.”

Musona believes with hard work he can reach the heights scaled by his countrymen, such as Wilfred Mugeyi, Benjamin Mwaruwari, Gilbert Mushangazhike and his brother Knowledge, who starred for PSL clubs in the past: “I can reach their level. if I keep working hard.”
