@LetsoaloShane

This season I spent unnecessarily, but this pandemic affected my life, my family. My budget is not enough anymore because we need more supplements and more healthy food.

@MorolongLesedi

We are buying more food than ever before. The first two months for me were really tough because my sister was laid off from work and I had to help with necessities. A tough year indeed.

@GgkLegodi

I’ve been avoiding fast food. It can take all your pocket and budget money. So I try by all means to use money wisely on things I need.

@Tshenolo Revela9

Prices have gone up so I don’t have anything to save but spend all my money on food and amenities.

@Washing 16749167

I tried by all means to spend wisely, buy needs not wants. Yet in spite of my efforts, I’m running out of finance because I’m still at home.

@sewesha18

Spending was too much for most of us as children need food every time they just feel like eating. I would buy a lot of food since it was difficult to go shopping due to lockdown. I thought I would save more money, but it left me with nothing.

@FearlesCitizen

I have chosen to pay off smaller debts, and focus on bigger debt from August. Spending on essentials and enjoying home-cooked meals, takeaways can wait a little longer…

@Motlatsi_RC

More time spent indoors however, has caused me to spend more on home entertainment and groceries. I’m always buying more than normal, just in case…

@Lumkatamboer

During Covid-19, my spending has been more on food, water and electricity. As @ City of Cape Town decided to increase rates so my water of R500 only lasts for two weeks now I pay R1 000 electricity for a month.

@Gerhard VanWyk18

I’m a personal trainer and still unsure as to when the fitness industry will be allowed to open up again. At the moment food is my biggest priority and I’m always looking for specials when shopping.

@calvin_ tshepo83

The pandemic caught me by surprise. I was not ready for it but I’ve learnt a new way of living. I save every cent, I only spend on basic needs like food and toiletries. I don’t spend on anything I don’t need like I used to, now I’m more disciplined.
