Former finance minister Trevor Manuel trended on X after he made remarks about South Africa’s economic state and former president Jacob Zuma. This is how people reacted:

@Mabuya_h

And we still protect the very cause of all failure in South Africa. I tell you wait until we buy bread for R30 and petrol R50 p/l soon after the elections. @phuthini_muna

Trevor should be patriotic and take that with proof and report Zuma to the nearest law enforcement agency. Abuse is a crime and cannot be tolerated.

@Tony22204389

So all along during Ramaphosa’s term Trevor Manuel was silent and now because the people’s president, Jacob Zuma, is contesting he complained about “investors to withdraw”.

@ManOfSteel19901

It is old. Trevor left the ANC. What business does he have what happens in MK where he has never even once been a member.

@UnathiAfrika

At this point every African (native) that cares should understand that the attacks on president Zuma are proof enough that he is good for the natives and bad for the colonialists.

@Monametsiii

They must form a choir so that we can hear and see all of them because at this rate it is a weak strategy.

@Tsholo_Blacki

Trevor Manuel – the husband of Maria Ramos. The woman who manipulated the rand during the term of JZ, that Trevor Manuel is talking about abuse. Let’s talk about how his wife abused her power first.

@UnityInSA

The biggest problem we have had in South Africa is not just some individual ANC leaders, but the ANC as a collective. They have plundered, mismanaged, broken, stolen, made terrible decisions, put party before people, etc. The ANC was and is the problem and Manuel was part of the ANC.

@RestoreMthwakaz

The line-up of askaris who are attacking president Zuma is laughable. No one will stop us from removing Cyril Ramaphosa. They can scream as loud as they can. @_LividaLoca_

Trevor Manuel is not a trusted person in society. Find more relevant and respected people who will speak the truth.
