Tbo Touch app-y chappie with launch of online station
EVERYTHING Thabo Molefe touches turns to radio gold. Last month the charismatic broadcaster, who is popularly known as Tbo Touch, announced that he was planning to give the online space that Midas touch with the launch of Touch Central.
It is South Africa’s first 24-hour online music station that will run daily. Following in the footsteps of Cliff Central, which is the brainchild of Idols judge and radio vet, Gareth Cliff, Touch Central will also live online. From today, you can listen on your computer or download the mobile app.
Touch Central will officially go live on Thursday.
Having recently moved on from Metro FM – where he enjoyed a record-breaking listenership – Tbo Touch is not quite leaving behind the radio format. Your Boy – as he is affectionately called (by himself and others) – will host his The Touch Down 326 drive-time slot daily between 3pm and 6pm.
On Fridays, American club DJ, DJ Enuff, will play a mix live from New York from 6pm to 7pm. Ahead of Thursday, the station exclusively shared its daytime line-up with
Tonight.
Every weekday, The Gareth Cliff Show will be live from 6am to 9am. Following that team, is Lerato Tshabalala. Her Start the Adventure show will air from 9am to 11am. The cutest tag team online, Katlego Mohoaduba and Arye Kellman, will follow the controversial author.
Get your daily dose of the reality star and actress when she joins forces with one of the voices of Vuzu’s V-Entertainment. They will be followed by Oneal Africa from 1pm to 3pm. He is known for in-depth interviews with some of the most popular personalities.
And then, of course, Tbo Touch will take over the mic. Feel free to add some horns here. While Cliff Central will still focus on podcasts and other digital innovations, Touch Central is all about the music. So, naturally, there will be a lot on offer from some of South Africa’s biggest names in the music industry. Keep your ears to the app to find out more.
