See what your ANC vote has done

- Johannesburg

MPUMELELO Ncwadi’s letter, (“The ANC’s major Codesa mistake”, Monday, February 13) was filled with such a mindless blame game, that it’s easy to see who our president is fooling with continued blame of “apartheid and white monopoly capital”.

The truth is that capital and resources are under democratic control and ownership via taxes and treasury.

The ruling party has hundreds of billions of rands each tax year to promote the upliftment of the majority through education, spacial change and land purchases, but does so with great reluctance.

How can land be restored when title deeds are not handed to black recipients? How can education be better than the world’s worst, when R200 million is used for a house?

Fortunes are wasted on MPs being put up in hotels for lengthy stays, and millions wasted on the annual cake party to celebrate the ANC birthday. It’s not apartheid or the National Party that is to blame. It’s not even the ANC, but You, who continuously give permission for corruption with your vote, instead of supporting the PAC, IFP, ACDP etc.

Could it be that you have been so drunk on liberation victory that you can’t see that those who make up white monopoly capital are paid by our government? Remember the 2010 stadiums and the tolled highways? Your un-thought out blame needs to look closely at those who control our taxes, not apartheid ghosts that don’t. Hitesh Naran
