WHAT IS HYALURONIC ACID? Hyaluronic acid (HA), which is also called Hyaluronan, is a natural substance in your skin that has the ability to capture and hold a large amount of moisture. It works overtime to replenish and leave your skin healthy and fresh-looking. ARE THERE DIFFERENT TYPES OF HA? Yes, there are five different types: 1. High is for firming and lifting; 2. Medium is long-acting hydration and helps in the penetration of actives; 3. Low for immediate hydration; 4. Extra low for deep hydration; and 5. Extra small for antiageing and restoration of moisture. WHY IS IT IN BEAUTY PRODUCTS? As you get older, your skin loses the ability to keep moisture on its own and it loses its natural firmness, elasticity and plumpness. Hyaluronic acid counters the ageing effect from the exposure to the sun. It also revitalises the skin’s outer layers so they look and feel softer and smoother, and immediately improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. WHO SHOULD USE IT? HA is for everyone who wants healthy skin as it’s beneficial for all skin types. It’s most-active when you have dry, flaky skin due to its hydrating and anti-ageing properties, but it’s also good for oily skin. Both oily and dry skin need hydration and HA is perfect as it’s weightless while providing the muchneeded moisture.
