“I requested a True Love makeover because I was in search of a new look that would suit me better, and make me feel good, comfortable and boost my confidence. You know what they say – ‘when you look good, you feel good, and when you feel good, you do good’”, Faith says.

MAKE-UP

“I prepped Faith’s face with a primer so her make-up can set nicely into her skin. I wanted to enhance her beautiful eyes and smile, so I went with a strong purple shade of eyeshadow, dusted her cheeks with a bronzer and went easy on her lips, with a sweet pink lip gloss,” says make-up artist Nthato Mashishi.

HAIR

“Faith had cornrows already, and her scalp and hair were well treated and moisturised. My only stress was deciding which hairstyle to go with. I went for a long, straight wig because I loved the way it complemented her overall look,” says hairstylist Thandiwe Nkoana.

FAITH’S EXPERIENCE How did you feel after the makeover? I felt great! It was a wonderful experience and I loved the outcome.

What was your highlight?

When the overall look was completed, I felt like a whole new person. I couldn’t believe I could be transformed like that. What did you love about your makeover?

Posing for pictures was fun. The photographer made me feel free and beautiful. What lesson did you learn about fashion and beauty?

That you can look great and still be comfortable. There’s a misconception that looking good must be painful and uncomfortable. I also learnt that you can keep your look simple and still look stylish.
