For Khathu Thusi, there’s no better way to celebrate her weight loss than with a revamped look

Occupation: Production Manager “I recently changed my diet to pescetarianism — a vegetarian who eats seafood — and noticed that I lost a lot of weight. I decided to continue eating seafood because I’d die without fish [chuckles]. I needed to prove to myself that it’s possible to lose weight much faster, when you stick to a diet that is in tune with your body,” Khathu explains.
MAKE-UP
“Khathu has beautiful skin, it’s smooth and clean, which made my job easy because my brushes just flowed over her skin. I decided on a fresh natural look for her, playing with nude eyeshadow, lipstick and finishing off with a highlighter for a natural glow,” says make-up artist Nthato Mashishi.
HAIR
“Khathu had never explored other hair colours, so I chose a blonde bob wig because I felt it would complement her facial features and make her look younger,” shares hairstylist Thandiwe Nkoana.

The hair gave me a different view of myself and the clothes were in line with my personal style. What did you learn?
That skipping any step can determine how you look in general. For example, not taking care of your skin means your make-up won’t look great. I also love my eyes lined, and I can’t wait to try this myself. With fashion, I learnt that you can wear anything when you’re comfortable with your size and if you commit to a diet (like I did)!
