THE GOOD WIFE

Season 5 Mondays M-Net 20:30 (episodes 13 & 14) After 13 years away from work, perfect political wife Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) was forced to return to the office as a lawyer after her husband Peter (Chris Noth) was jailed due to a sex and corruption scandal. Alicia’s old law school buddy (and crush) Will (Josh Charles) pulled strings to get her a job at his firm Stern, Lockhart & Gardner (LG).

Five things you must know:

Peter and Will have both been courting Alicia (Peter and Alicia are estranged). He’s also the Governor Of Chicago now and as of the start of the season on 19 May, is in the lead. In episode 5 (on 16 June) Will threw a bitter hissyfit tantrum when he found out that Alicia was defecting from LG to start her own firm Florick/ Agos (FA) with former LG lawyer Cary Agos (Matt Czuchry). The LG and FA split has divided clients and cases left and right, so there are still enormous conflicts of interest and cases where Alicia is forced to work with Will and her exboss Diane (Christine Baranski). LG and FA are mostly on the side of the angels, but their books include some truly dangerous clients like kingpin Lemond Bishop (Mike Colter). A shocking death for one of the lead characters will arrive in episode 15 (25 August). But that’s also when we see Matthew Goode (in 2009 movie Watchmen) joins as good guy lawyer Finn Polmar.
