House Of Cards
Jackie Sharp (molly parker) has what Washington wants in a rising politician: she’s young, ruthless, female, a war hero and clean as a whistle. but it’s not long before frank Underwood’s (kevin Spacey) protégé and new majority whip makes dodgy choices and hops into bed with political puppetmaster Raymond tusk’s (gerald mcRaney) right-hand man Remy (mahershala ali). fortunately molly cuts a cleaner path in her own rise to the top.
molly’s parents raised her and her younger brother henry on their “hippie” farm in Vancouver, Canada and made a living selling seafood. molly trained as a ballerina for 13 years, then she persuaded her uncle’s acting agent to take her on as a client when she was just 15. now, of course, molly’s famous and her uncle’s name isn’t even on the internet. the 42-year-old’s first onscreen sex scene, in the 1996 Canadian movie kissed, was with a dead guy (the crew used a mannequin – not a real corpse). her character Sandra was a necrophiliac. You may recognise Canadian-born molly from deadwood (2004-2006) – she played widow alma garret. She also played the sexy rabbi in Six feet Under in 2002. Or if you’re a boardwalk Empire fan, her portrait was used for the photo of nucky’s wife in the show’s first episode back in 2010. She had her son William Strummer bissonnette on 13 October 2006 – molly was pregnant while filming the third season of deadwood and said that her pregnancy made her notice how bad everyone and everything smelled on set. before auditioning for her current role, molly binge-watched season 1 of house Of Cards (2013-current) and says that “i watched it in three days… pretty much like everybody else”. She says of her co-star kevin, “he’s funny and jokes around, but when he’s playing francis, he’s terrifying.”
