best known as ditsy barbra Jean booker Hart in Reba mcEntire’s show Reba (20012007), melissa Peterman’s back on the box. but hosting a gameshow like bet On Your baby (2013-current), where families use their toddlers to win college funds, isn’t the only interesting thing about her.
the 43-year-old graduated with a degree in theatre from minnesota State University in 1996 and kicked off her career that year by playing madeline monroe in more than 600 performances of comedy play tony ’n’ tina’s Wedding. that same year, melissa made her acting debut in the Coen brothers’ cult hit movie Fargo, playing “Hooker #2”. She tied the knot with fellow actor John brady in 1999 and had their only child so far, son Riley david, in 2005. melissa’s also the family breadwinner – John’s biggest role to date is “AA meeting guy” in a 2012 episode of Nurse Jackie (2009-current). Her tv Cv includes appearances on sitcoms like Just Shoot me in 2000 (1997-2003 – read more on p45), Rita Rocks (2009) and Retired At 35 (2012). She also voiced animated characters including becky in a 2004 episode of Johnny bravo (1997-2004) and Sister mary in a 2008 episode of American dad! (2005-current). bet On Your baby isn’t melissa’s first hosting gig either – she hosted the stand-up show Comedy Stage in 2007, karaoke gameshow the Singing bee (2009-2012) and 2013 dancing-blooper show dancing Fools. the actress is also pretty handy behind the mic. She parodied 1975 musical Chicago’s song All that Jazz for her co-star Reba’s 50th birthday in 2006. melissa also popped up at one of Reba’s concerts in 2007 and duetted with the country singer on her 2001 song i’m A Survivor, which also happens to be the theme song for their show Reba.
