Season 11 Fridays (from 21 November) SABC1 19:30

seriously – talent is nothing without discipline. i know that and i practice it. how i was raised contributes to my character. and what do you know about dancing? choreography was part of my music videos and it’s another form of exercise, because i’m fit and run a lot. i like to look after my body. music and dance go hand in hand. so what’s it like working with cassandra? she’s awesome – beautiful and smart. we can talk about a lot of things besides entertainment, which she’s passionate about. we spoke after she was given the position and i told her i’d seen her audition and liked it because it’s clear that she’s talented. are you nervous about how audiences will receive the “new” jika majika? keep in mind that i haven’t done this before. i’ve been attending presenting classes since filming because the more you put in, the better you become. i’m looking forward to seeing what people think of us.

cassandra (22)

how did you get the jika majika presenting job? it was definitely part of the plan of what i’m trying to become – a brand and a business. i just thought that it would be harder. two people (my friend and a judge on the panel of miss mpumalanga) told me about the auditions. i was apprehensive at first, but then i went for it. tell us more about who cassandra is when the cameras aren’t rolling. even though i’m a model, i’m a very private person with not many friends, mainly because i travel back and forth between my hometown nelspruit and joburg. i’m also a tomboy who performs poetry as part of a duo called mary jane gin. you have huge shoes to fill, but they chose you, so you must be doing something right… jika majika wasn’t necessarily what i wanted to do. i’m a shy girl and the complete opposite of previous presenter thembi. i was like, “who am i to fill such big shoes?” everyone who knows me knows how shy i am, but i tell myself “just do you, have fun and make it your own”. this is my chance to introduce the world to cassandra. so what are you bringing to the show? calmness and variety. mzambiya and i are total opposites but it works. and what’s it like working with him? he is amazing. we contrast each other – i’m more hip-hop while he’s a kwaito star. the merge between the two is awesome. there was instant chemistry from the moment we met and continued both on and offscreen. we make up for each other where the other lacks. we have to ask – can you dance? i’m more of a hip-hop dancer. i’m waiting for the episode where i break out and do it on tv.
