today’s a big day for fans of arrow (2012current) – it’s the superhero show’s 50th episode. so pop the champagne, put on your party hats and take a look at other by-the-numbers moments from arrow…
is used in arrow’s location shoots. vancouver, canada transforms into russia, south america and hong kong, to name a few. the island flashback scenes are also shot in vancouver, at whytecliff park beach. “it’s beautiful, but it’s certainly not the island from lost,” stephen amell (oliver/arrow) laughs. “there are no plush beaches; it hurts when you fall on rocks no matter how well you’re trained to do it.”
the stunt doubles are husband and wife. simon burnett (who doubles for stephen) is married to kim, who takes the bumps for emily bett rickards’ character felicity smoak.
was all it took for stephen to master his archery skills. not that he shoots arrows on the set – they’re added later digitally in post production.
suits have been used during the seasons – and there will be more. “it’s partly made of leather, so it stretches and when it’s worn out, we move on to the next one,” says stephen.

masks were created for the second half of season 2 to replace arrow’s painted mask. they chose the dark green one because it was “simple and fitted,” says producer andrew kreisberg.
