Kieran and Piers help widowed Sumati Bala when the cottage she was hoping to run her cooking school from is condemned due to problems. Sumati is forced to knock down the troubled cottage and try to build a new one in its place, but can she do it within budget? big brother africa (2003-current) is back for a ninth season. dashing, charismatic 35-year-old nigerian radio and tv personality ik osakioduwa can’t wait to dive into the new season featuring 28 handpicked contestants who consider themselves hotshots at whatever they believe they’re good at. but as we saw on the opening night – where a talent show was held for them to prove they deserve to be part of the season – some aren’t that gifted. unlike talented presenter ik… are you excited about the new season? i’m glad to be back. this season is far more interesting than its predecessors. why should the viewers keep watching big brother africa: hotshots? the competition’s higher as there’s a lot at stake. it’s been five years since you first took over the mic – how’s that been? keen for another five? i take it as a compliment and social media means more love from across africa. the contestants had to show off a talent at the launch. what’s your hidden talent? i can talk my way out of anything. so what’s the best part about being back at the house? chatting to contestants before eviction is always a pleasure; i get to show them stuff they thought nobody saw. what do you think of the contestants so far? they have surprised me with their good behaviour. in other seasons, the first kiss would’ve happened on the very first day. the men are also less macho and more in touch with their emotions. and are they as talented as they professed to be? i’m seeing so much potential. i hope they go beyond big brother africa. which season would you have liked to been on and why? amplified (2011)… all the girls!
