the central mystery has nothing to do with murder or betrayal – it’s whether or not laura and jake will reconcile. in episode 5 on 18 november, jake proved that he hasn’t stopped fooling around with women after his twins walked in on him “wrestling” with another kid’s mom on the sofa during his custody night. in episode 7 (1 december), we found out that laura’s estranged dad (robert klein) is an ex pro poker player. jake is determined to win laura back and scared off a potential suitor in episode 8 on 8 december. by episode 10 on 22 december, he still hasn’t signed those divorce papers… laura finally gets what she’s wanted all season long in episode 9 on 15 december – a great nanny (and the same woman who yelled at them in episode 1 when the boys peed in the park).
