who is patti stanger? what does she do? and why should you care? the 53-yearold opinionated multimillionaire is the big boss on reality show the millionaire matchmaker (2008-current) and she finds ladies to match her mega-wealthy clients’ needs… and deep pockets. now she’s back on tv with season 6 of her show. the new jersey native was adopted by second-generation matchmaker rhoda goldstein, who loves watching her daughter’s show. says rhoda, “the home is like shabbat [jewish sabbath] every thursday – everyone gathers to watch. sometimes there’s no filter between patti’s brain and her mouth. if only i had a dollar for every time i say ‘oi!’” patti’s been matchmaking since 2000, as the ceo and founder of millionaire’s club international inc, an labased service for the very rich. but have no fear if your wallet’s on the thin side – she offers online services for “non-millionaires who’re looking for love”. her job’s to find love for people, but patti’s not had much luck in her own lovelife. she met ex-fiancé andy friedman, a successful real-estate developer, through a matchmaker. they split in 2010 after a two-year engagement and she’s been with current fiancé david krause, a former pro baseball player-turned-mortgage broker, since 2012 after meeting online. she loves controversy. in 2011, patti appeared on watch what happens live (a live online chatshow since 2009). she said “there’s no curbing you people” – a slur that gay men can’t be in a monogamous relationship. she then told a gay viewer over live video that “you’re very handsome. i thought you were straight”. in january this year, she was on reality star bethenny frankel’s talkshow bethenny (2012-2014) and said that she’d never marry a bisexual man because “if they’re bisexual, they’re gay”. host network bravo had to apologise to both occasions.
