e were relieved when lindile (musa ngema) wriggled himself out of selling illegal steroids at the end of december. it ruined his relationship with aggie (mimi mahlasela) and led to the death of his pal zola (jabu hadebe). but that was just the calm before the storm – on monday 5 january, errol (christo davids) and the other guys realise that lindile’s missing. errol and bernard (werner coetser) go to lindile’s flat and only find a shard of blood-spattered glass…

what’s happened? musa says that lindile disappearing is explained by his need to get away from his recent drama. “he’s sure that he’s finally out of danger, so he doesn’t even think that someone could be following him. but he’s wrong.” meanwhile, aggie’s a bundle of nerves because she can feel that something’s amiss with her ex. “she confides in her boss neville (zane meas) and says that it makes no sense for lindile to be missing. it’s out of his character and he would have said goodbye if he wanted to leave.” a search kicks off but the hillsiders’ nightmares become reality on wednesday 7 january when the police phone errol and tell him that they’ve found lindile’s lifeless body.

there’s an eerie, sad silence on thursday 8 january when xander (theo jantjies) reveals that lindile was murdered. “aggie is devastated,” mimi says, adding that it looked like the two characters were going to reconcile. aggie’s friends try to console her, but her pain can’t be easily or quickly forgotten. on friday 9 january, bernard’s police contact tells him that snakes (carlo radebe), the man who killed zola, has been released on bail. bernard suspects that snakes might have killed lindile, but of course he can’t prove it. on tuesday 13 january, hillside holds a teary memorial service at oppiekoffie for their friend . the next day, on wednesday 14 january, aggie heads to zululand in kwazulunatal for lindile’s funeral. and just like that, another beloved 7de laan character leaves the laan for good…
