when actress emily rose took on the role of audrey in haven (2010-current), she never imagined how much her character would change over the years. now, with audrey’s evil twin coming into play in the first part of season 5, emily’s facing a new challenge, but she admits that she loves playing someone completely different.
Tell us more about Mara, your character’s evil twin. well, the first episode is where we kind of meet this new evil person called mara. she’s a lot of fun to play. audrey’s been in this dire melancholy state, so to play someone who’s more in control and free is a pleasure. but there are moments where she made me really uncomfortable and i didn’t like playing her. We’ve seen some time travel in recent seasons. Any era that you’d love to explore in the show? i’ve always wanted to do the 1800s, like a western with petticoats and horses and intricate dresses. that’s been my dream. Can you tell us more about season 5? it’s a lot bigger. i think that it will be really enjoyable and exciting for the audience. and when you throw a different character into the mix, it makes everything that much more of a pleasure to watch because it’s unpredictable. i’m excited to see how the viewers react to mara. Will we get to see Audrey again? we haven’t seen the “real” audrey since season 3, so it’s about time. but i don’t know if audrey is coming back. i really hope that she does, because i’d love to play her again. Lucas bryant (Nathan) is directing an episode in season 5. Will you try your hand at directing? very much! i’ve always enjoyed photography as well as storytelling through acting, so i definitely want to direct. i don’t know when i’ll get to do that in the future, but i’m working on it.
